Blogging On The Go

Blogging used to be a big thing. Now, social media has taken over through the likes of Facebook, Twitter and Google+. The latter is rather more interesting to me especially to those who love to blog. Obviously, I havent found the time to blog much these days which is why I spend more time tweeting and posting on instagram. Why? Because you can do it on the go. The moment your thoughts come, you tweet. The moment you snap a photo, you upload them. Not much thinking required. But, thanks to apps such as wordpress’s, blogging is also made on the go.

This post is saved and edited as I go along. I am typing this from the wp’s iOS app. I reread my post, add more stuff to say and save. I do not need to be online, I do not need to worry about pages loading or losing them. And I do not worry about distractions – besides the things going on live around me. When there are distractions while walking, or sitting here, I click done and it is saved as a draft. I continue again later.

As I go along, I can snap photos I would like to share, get those saved and upload them when I’m done. So this post is just about that. Through out the day, I will add more to this post, save, add, save, etc.

Just had a chat with the new neighbour. I said hi to him a few days ago warning him on the stray digs that has been staying around here. I keep shooing them away but they keep coming back. I fear for my cats.

Speaking of which, I let Coco, out cat, out of her cage. We kept her in to train her. She wasn’t a people person before. Now she just craves the attention.

Anyway, back to my neighbour. Spent the past 15 minutes talking to him out in the sun, talking about lots of stuff initiated by the dog topic. Very chatty neighbour. Friendly. Makes me think, if I hadnt said hi to him would he have ever talked to me?

Just dropped off JuLeZz off to Bakerlyn cafe to see her friends. Alya’s with me now. Gonna go home and spend some quality time with the little miss.

Alya’s been sleeping for half an hour now. What quality time with daddy! But best part is, she fell asleep by herself! She did this lastnight as well. I’m glad she is learning to fall asleep on her own.

6.51pm
At Hua Ho. Just picked JuLeZz up. Now we are looking around for Alya’s Hari Raya Aidil Adha’s clothes. We usually have takbir the night before and dad’s planning to have korban at their place.

Man, this woman just shouted to call someone else while standing next to Alya’s stroller. Idiot almost woke Alya up.

Been home the past 2 hours. Now a bit of work, late dinner and, hopefully Alya doesnt wake up and get fussy, sleep.

Third Year Coming To An End

This is a teaser poster for SEEDS I created for their upcoming production. It’s that time of the year again for SEEDS where we spend our afternoons and evenings on trying to perfect our performing arts. The time for the SEEDS3 students (or seedlings) to graduate is nearing and I’m sure this year we’ll encounter new problems but hopefully we’ll be able to tackle the ones from the past.

This year, SEEDS will be performing Willy Wonka on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2011. That’s four weeks left of rehearsing and preparing for the play. This year though, with Alya in our life, I’m spending most of my time doing the paperwork, less hands on with the musical. But, JuLeZz and I have left SEEDS in the hands of two trusted coaches to be the producer and the director.

Weird Titles

I come back to update my wordpress and what do I find? All my titles from my past posts have gone weird. Even my menu! What’s going on? Was it because of the update? Everything now says “Anonymous-Dz: Microsoft-Dz”. What is that about?

Looks like updating posts isn’t my only concern right now. What a welcoming party.

It’s been awhile since I’ve updated anything here. In the past few months since March, a lot of things have been happening in my life including the coming of our new daughter, Little Miss Alya. I have so much to update on that part of my life but there has been little time to do so. These days though, there are no excuses with the existence of mobile updating.

With the latest update to wordpress’s iOS app, I find that updating is easier. I update my other blogs frequently via the app but only because I have to. However, I have no idea why I haven’t had the time to do so here. I always have things to say and things to write but they always come either when I’m driving, walking or in the toilet. Then, when it’s time to sit down in front of the computer, words escape me. That and the distractions that is the internet. I guess that is why it’s easier to update via a mobile app – less distractions.

Recently, I’ve picked up a book that JuLeZz has been reading and realized how much behind I have been when it comes to actual writing. Not those short updates I do on instagram or Google+ but actual long posts on blogs. This is what makes blogs different from these other social media sites. You creativity when it comes to writing just gets shorter and shorter. But of course, I don’t just do it to put my thoughts into words but also to keep practising writing and never have to be out of practice. I admire those who can write on and keep a blog for so long. I wish I’m one of them. I was gonna finish that last sentence with “even if no one reads them” but really, you want people to read what you write. That’s why you post them online viewable by the public, so the public can read! If not, there’s always the private option.

There’s lots to tell, lots to write about but so little time. What I am going to do though is start fresh and write things that happen from here on forth, not updates from the past. There’s always my instagram for that.

So welcome back Mr Syaf. I hope you stay.
